CleanGuard® Fire Extinguishers contain FE-36™ clean agent fire extinguishing agent, which is a hydrofluorocarbon with the ASHRAE designation of HFC-236fa and is manufactured by DuPont. Chemically it is hexafluoropropane, CF 3 -CH 2 -CF 3 . It does not contain bromine, like Halon 1211 (CF 2 ClBr), which is the component identified as contributing to the depletion of the earth's ozone layer.
