Halotron™ I Fire Extinguishers
manufactured by Amerex Corporation
Halotron™ I Fire Extinguishers contain HCFC-123 clean agent fire extinguishing agent, which is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon. Chemically it is dichlorotrifluoroethane, CF 3 CHCl 2 . It does not contain bromine, like Halon 1211 (CF 2 ClBr), which is the component identified as contributing to the depletion of the earth’s ozone layer. With a near-zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), Halotron™ I is environmentally preferred and is an acceptable Halon 1211 alternative.
